Bali Becomes a Health Tourism Destination, Government Builds International Hospital

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) did the groundbreaking or groundbreaking of the Bali International Hospital or the Bali International Hospital.

This is part of the government's efforts to prepare Bali as a destination health tourism

"And this will  increase tourism for people to the island of Bali.

And we hope that not our people will go out, but outsiders who will enter Indonesia to get health services because here we have our collaboration with the well-known Mayo Clinic, " said Jokowi as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube account, Monday (27/12/2021).

Jokowi hopes that with the existence of an International Hospital in Bali, there will be no more people seeking treatment abroad.

"Alhamdulillah, this morning, we will start the construction of the Bali International Hospital, which will later collaborate with the Mayo Clinic from America.

We hope that it will become a health SEZ and we hope that there will be no more, if this happens, there will be no more." our people, our people who go abroad to get health services," said Jokowi.

Jokowi revealed that every year there are many residents who seek treatment abroad. Jokowi hopes that with the construction of the Bali International Hospital, everyone will go to Bali to get health services.

"Because we know, every year there are approximately 2 million of our people who go abroad to get health services, be it to Singapore, be it to Malaysia, be it to Japan, be it to America and other places. And we lost 97 trillion rupiah because of that," Jokowi said.

"So I really appreciate what has been initiated and today will be initiated by the Minister of SOEs, Mr. Erick Thohir and his entire team and we hope once again, after the completion of the Bali International Hospital, absolutely no one will go outside. "Everything goes to Bali and Bali will become a health tourism destination,"

Jokowi continued.

In addition, said Jokowi, the construction of an international hospital could increase the number of tourist visits to Bali. What's more, the hospital cooperates with world-renowned hospitals.

Jokowi hopes that the construction of the hospital will be completed next year. He also hopes that Indonesia can produce its own medical devices and medicines.

"Once again, I really appreciate, appreciate and we hope that by the middle of 2023 this hospital will be completed and operational. And I also hope that what the Minister of SOEs said earlier that not only hospitals but also medicines, medicinal raw materials should not be we are importing again. Medical devices, medicines, medicinal raw materials, we have to stop importing these items again and we will produce them ourselves in our country," added Jokowi.

Now I know why there was so much security on the bypass next to Sanur a  few hours ago.

President Jokowi was right behind me probably heading back to the airport to Jakarta.

At any rate it's positive to see that they're going forward with the Bali international Hospital just up the street from our Bali luxury villas.

I've been saying for years that medical tourism is a natural for Bali.

Australians and New Zealanders would rather travel to Bali instead of Korea Singapore or Thailand for medical work.

The fact that the famous Mayo Clinic is going to be part of this Hospital will provide confidence for those seeking treatment especially for cancer.

Just one more reason why I believe Sanur  is the best place to buy real estate in Bali especially with prices  20 to 50% below 2019 prices.
